Sexy Shrimp Scampi
This simple but flavorful Scampi is sure to be a big hit.

Loved, loved, loved this! The seasonings are classic and perfect but it was the cooking method that particularly impressed me. I generally prepare shrimp this way in a skillet on the stove top, but this was just too easy! What was really kind of cool was that I used three shrimp apiece as an appetizer for our grilled steak dinner using small gratin dishes that looked so pretty on the serving plate along with the steaks! For additional flavor and color I added chopped fresh chives from my garden and sprinkled the shrimp with paprika. I know I'll be repeating this as an easy and delicious appetizer regularly.Read More
A good basic recipe, but bland. I would add lemon juice, white wine, perhaps some Dijon mustard. I had large shrimp on hand, so put in 1 more tbsp of olive oil, 1 more tbsp of butter and 1 additional garlic clove, but still needed a bit more pizzaz; I will make it again the the additions above and see if it has more zing.Read More

Simple and basic, also very good and easy. This is a quick fix meal with some pasta and garlic bread. Can easily change it up by adding white wine or some herbs to get more flavor. Thanks for the post.
My first time ever making Shrimp Scampi. I made this tonight for an appetizer while my dinner was cooking. This was quick, simple and easy. The next time, I will have it as the main course but I will add some fresh parsley, white wine, broccoli, and fresh parmesan cheese, served on top of some pasta along with garlic bread and a side salad. Yummy!!!
5 stars because it passed my 3 major tests: is it simple/easy to prepare? Yes. Is it delicious? Yes. Do my kids love it? Yes. Toss it over some pasta, and presto you are done. : )
Very good, I thought the garlic was a bit too strong but otherwise I enjoyed the method and the taste. I added a sprinkle of panko bread crumbs mixed with some fresh parmesan cheese on the top before baking. Made a nice "crust". I'll make it again with a bit less garlic than what's called for.
Very very simple and very very tasty. I did make 2 minor modifications: I added fresh basil from my herb garden and freshly squeezed lemon juice to the marinade.
This was great! The scampi was quick and easy to make AND tastes fantastic. My only additions were: adding approx 1/2c Italian dressing to the marinade for some extra flavor, and topping the shrimp with a mixture of Italian & Panko bread crumbs and a few shakes of parm cheese before baking. While the scampi was in the oven, I boiled some linguine, tossed it in couple Tbsps of butter and garlic salt, add garlic bread, and voila! A quick weeknight meal a la Italian bistro.
Was looking for a light lunch and this did the trick! Topped ours with Parmesan Cheese and it was perfect. :)
We made this on the grill instead of the oven and it was a huge hit at my son's family birthday celebration (which was during Lent). Everyone, including my super picky, all Organic sister, was asking for the recipe. This is the only way we make shrimp now.
I didn't feel like the sauce would be enough so I added some more olive oil, some dijon mustard, white wine and parsley. Its was AMAZING!
I made this for dinner last night. I baked the shrimp in the marinade, because I couldn’t see that marinating for only ten minutes would do much of anything. I did deviate from the recipe by adding 2T. of dry white wine which added a nice subtle flavor. If I were to make this again, I’d marinate for a longer time and grill rather than bake them.
Simple and yet a classic. I gave them a generous sprinkle of paprika but that was my only addition. YUM!
I added more seasonings and made it 5 stars. If you don't add salt and pepper or seasoned salt and pepper, it's a bit bland.
Skipped the butter, didn't measure out the other ingredients, and it still came out fabulous! added broccoli and baked the shrimp/broccoli together, served over quinoa.
We really loved this dish! The cooking method was much easier than the traditional sauteed method. All I had to do was put everything in a casserole dish and let it bake for 15 minutes. The baking method was approximate as was the ingredients, measurements and directions. The flavor was buttery and tasty. I sprinkled fresh minced Italian flat leaf parsley for added flavor and color.
Absolutely easy to make and very good. It was my first time deveining shrimp, but i ended up doing quite well after some practice. Would make it again!
This is my favorite way to prepare shrimp. Certainly the easiest. The first time I tried this I could not believe how good the shrimp were. I served this to a shrimp snob--said he had never had such wonderful shrimp in his life. And he is a senior citizen.
I used this mostly to see what ingredients I should use. I still cooked it on the stove because I had tiny cooked (but frozen) shrimp. I wanted to serve it over linguine so I added some wine for more sauce. It was nice and went fast. Thanks for sharing!
Used Irish garlic herb butter instead and added fresh chopped parsley - BIG HIT! Have always wanted to find an easy and flavorful recipe and this was it. I will be making for our family for years to come :)
This is my boyfriends favorite meal. I usually triple the marinade. I get a pound and a half of uncooked shrimp. I make the marinade first, place shrimp in marinade while oven in heating. Then I pour all marinade and shrimp into a 9 x13 dish and place in oven for 15 min (no need to turn shrimp, they will cook perfect without stirring them) while in oven I boil and cook linguine. When shrimp is complete I pour whole dish over my pasta and toss. DELICIOUS!!!
We loved this, and, of course, I liked the easy preparation! I added lemon pepper, which I will not do next time. Thanks!
Delicious! Very easy to prepare and perfect!
I made this for a family bbq and poured them over steak and used lemon pepper and sea salt instead of pepper and kosher salt and they were awesome! Everyone loved how easy theuy were to make! Will definitely use again and again as family loves shrimp
SUPER EASY TO MAKE! instead of placing shrimp in a pattern, I just put them straight from the bowl into a 13x9 pan and put it into an oven. next time I'm going to add some lemon juice and more pepper.
Loved this SO much!! I'm usually hesitant to make my own seafood recipes at home, but this was so easy and so amazing. Makes me want to make it every week!
Loved this. I made it exactly as written the first time and was impressed. The second time I added 1T of white wine and 1/4 t of parsley and it was amazing. We have shrimp at least once a week and I have never considered marinating it. Thanks Trailindaw. I will be using this recipe again and again.
This was really good, but instead of kosher salt I used lemon pepper. It came out quite nice.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this recipe. I add a little bit of lemon pepper and italian seasoning to it and serve with rice pilaf. It's a big hit with my family!
This was really good. I left out the salt and served it over vegetable couscous.
Soo easy and sooo good. I did add lemon as well. My biggest challenge is making dishes my very picky step son will eat. He had no problem eating a large majority of this dish! Next time i'll be doubling it.
I used the frozen cooked and peeled shrimp that i thaw out, baked for 10 minutes and it turned out ok on flavor but the shrimp got hard so i definitely do not recommend using the same shrimp i used. I didn't have any uncooked shrimp when i made this so next time i will try it with uncooked shrimp and maybe it will turn out better.
Wonderful!! My new "go to recipe." I used the 16 to 20 count large prawns. They still cooked perfectly in 15 minutes. Exquisite!!
flavor was ok but sauce was too runny. probably wouldn't make again.
Super easy and my oldest liked helping. Let's just say, when my super picky 5, 3 and 2 year olds devour their supper AND ask for it again the next night....the recipe's a keeper! ;)
First time making shrimp scampi and it was really wonderful! I boiled up some linguine to serve with it and used the left over butter, oil, garlic mix as the sauce with it, that the shrimp was in. It was so YUMMY!
Be careful not to undercook or overcook the shrimp. This makes a great appetizer if you stick some toothpicks in it.
A quick and easy recipe for a very good shrimp dish. The family loved it.
it was awesome
Easy and very tasty!
Awesome!!! The only thing I did different was to sprinkle some Old Bay seasoning on top. Next time I'm going to add some sliced green peppers & onions. So easy & delish!!!!
This is the best way to cook shrimp! No more skillet shrimp for me, as I always overcooked it. Nice blend of seasonings that don't overpower the flavour of the shrimp. I served the shrimp on pasta with alfredo sauce and broccoli, and it was yummy. Perfect texture. I will always cook shrimp this way now.
Very yummy! We thought it was great :) I followed the recipe, but did add a couple tablespoons of lemon juice. I don't know if that made a difference or not, but my family all enjoyed this dish.
Very easy, simple, and tasty! I love garlic so I added way more than the usual amount...also sprinkled it Cajuns choice creole seasoning! And omg it was super delish! Definitely be making this from now on!
Simple and easy - I had to change the servings to 5 to accommodate my family and probably used half the amount of butter called for. I also used sea salt and had to adjust up to our liking for flavor otherwise it would have been too bland. I served this over pasta with parsley and parm cheese. Kids loved it, so it's a keeper for me.
Everyone in family LOVED this!
It was amazing. After having a few failures at making my own shrimp dishes, this experience was a breath of fresh air, especially for a amateur cook.
This was really good. I added Parmesan cheese on the top and it was great!
The Scampi was very good. I added some white wine an extra clove of garlic and some parsley and it came out delicious. I served it over angel hair pasta. I will make this again.
No changes. Yummy the way it is
This was really good! I'm not much of a shrimp fan but I felt like I was eating something from a restaurant, not my home! I added a bit more of everything but the oil so that I would have more sauce and paired it with noodles, in the same sauce. Phenomenal and so simple, thank you!
I used a lot more spices on the shrimp. I like it a lot spicier though. Turned out great. Used cilantro instead of parsley for more of a "Mexican" taste. Great dish. Fed two of us with two leftover meals for myself at work!
No changes. I will make it again. Simple and tasty..
Really good I love shrimp
7 22 17 ... http://allrecipes.com/recipe/136525/sexy-shrimp-scampi/ ... Good good! K & S liked this better than the other one I made, same night ... I liked that one, shrimp scampi bake, better; but they are both very good! The sauce on this one, sexy, is more rich - olive oil - than the other. Very good, very easy.
This was incredible! Like other reviewers I added some fresh lemon juice (about 1/4 of a lemon) and some fresh chopped parsley. 7 minutes on each side and these large shrimps turned out to be amazeballs!
Simple and delicious!!
I made this last minute last night with a side of sautéed mushrooms and it saved my Valentines Day dinner!!!! Awesome recipe!!!
Easy and flavorful. My new go-to for shrimp!
Note: If the shrimp are starting from frozen, you'll need significantly longer than ten minutes in the oven. I suggest 400 degrees and covering the top of the casserole dish loosely with foil so the shrimp gently steam with the butter.
Good, easy, quick.
My wife did not care for this dish. . she was unable to articulate a specific reason for her opinion. In my own defense, I must say, the dish was properly prepared in accordance with the recipe's instructions.
Only thing I did was season to taste. Would make this anytime.
It was delicious and easy
Made it just as the recipe depicted. I didn't expect a simple recipe to be so delicious! Thank you for sharing!
Love it!!! Fast and delicious.
Tasty and easy! Great to make when you need a quick meal. We love it
Always a hit at my dinner table!
Love this recipe!! It is so simple, yet so delicious. Add what you want to add, but it is perfect just the way it is!
2 lbs lg shrimp, defrost in fridge from Sat morning till Monday supper. Melt 4 TBL butter, add 4 cloves garlic, 2.5 TBL olive oil and 187 ml Barefoot pinot grigio and the juice of 1 lemon. Marinate shrimp 15 minutes or longer. Bake in single layer in lg glass dish, 15-20 min at 350 degrees. Fantastic. 2.1.16
Very good, very easy. My family loves this!
Baked shrimp! Who knew?! :) delicious! Made three times now and will make again. Perfectly cooked.
Loved making scampi in the oven..no stovetop to clean! Doubled oil and butter because I was putting it over a lb. of thin spaghetti. Added a good pinch of red pepper flakes and after mixing with pasta topped with fresh parsley and grated parmigiana reg cheese and juice of a lemon. Hubs just grunted like a cave man and had THREE helpings! Thanks for a great recipe!
fast and very flavorful
Nice and easy. Added more garlic and some basil.
This was outstanding! Added some chopped sweet onion, cherry tomatoes and carrots for color, all so tasty. Will make again and again
I used 1/2 lb of large shrimp vs 30 medium shrimp. Added a dash of white wine and red pepper flakes to the butter mixture. I prepared this ahead of time and left it in the fridge for about 2 hours before baking. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
I made it as directed and it was delicious. will make it again. Soon.
It may not be traditional scampi but I don't care. It's quick and easy and so tasty served over pasta!
Really yummy! I squeezed a bit a lemon juice onto the shrimp before cooking.
I MADE SCAMPI RECENTLY, VERY SIMILAR TO THIS - WAS GREAT - ADDED SOME WINE AND FRESH PARSLEY TOO
Could you imagine these little darlings served on some romaine lettuce leaves beside Chef Johns Garlic Garlic Steak !!!
This dish turned out great! I couldn't believe how quick and easy it was. Absolutely Delicious ??
I thought it was good, but maybe my garlic was not big enough, could also use a fresh squeeze of lemon.
Too much garlic
I enjoyed it, but I'm adding more butter the next time. Got "dry" rather quickly so I think more butter will remedy that.
Really good flavors using fresh ingredients. I added chicken for my kids since they don't like shrimp. My wife and I had both chicken and shrimp. Excellent.
Added basil. Used half red pepper olive oil combined with regular olive oil. Put parmasean cheese on after making.
I added a little more garlic. Absolutely delicious!
It was really good and easy to prepare thanks :)
I love it. Easy a delish. I used all olive oil instead of butter and olive oil.
I made this last night for shrimp toppings on a falafel crusted pizza I made. It was fabulous! So easy and delicious. This is a keeper recipe.
This is the simplest, most delicious shrimp recipe! I had it with spinach linguine and used the pan drippings as sauce. Thanks!
very good and easy to make
